INDIANPOLIS, Ind. - One day after winning the Battle for Hilton Head Championship, the Carson-Newman women's golf team finds themselves still in the top-20 of the Golfstat national poll.
The Eagles are one of four SAC teams ranked in the Golfstat women's D-II poll. Limestone is ranked second while Anderson enters the week ranked fourth. Lenoir-Rhyne is four slots ahead of the Eagles at 15th. Lynn University claims the top spot in the poll.
Carson-Newman is coming off its second straight victory at the Battle at Hilton Head tournament on Tuesday, Feb. 22. The Eagles won the tournament by three strokes, thanks to superb performances by Caroline Nemes, Maeve Cummins and Ellie Haughton. Haughton finished third individually at the tournament while Cummins finished tied for fourth. Nemes finished tied for tenth after shooting one-under in the second round to move up 30 spots on the final day.
Individually, Cummins ranks 34th in all of Division-II. Cummins has recorded three straight top-five finishes on the course.
Haughton sits at 50th in all of Division-II. Haughton recorded her first top-five finish earlier this week in Hilton Head since finishing tied for second at the 2021 Louise Suggs Invitational.
Sara Ericsson of Lynn holds the number one individual spot.

The Eagles will look to continue their winning ways as they return to the Palmetto State for the Low Tide Intercollegiate in Charleston beginning on Monday, Feb. 28.
