Speiser nabs CSC Academic All-District accolade

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman junior tennis player Julia Speiser (Klagenfurt am Woumlrthersee, Austria) has been lauded with a College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-District honor. 

Speiser is now eligible to compete for Academic All-America status. 

The accolade is the second postseason honor for Speiser, who was a second-team All-SAC doubles selection with Tasha Forrest. 

Speiser and Forrest were 10-2 on the year, going 7-2 at first doubles and 3-0 at second doubles.   The pair won their final six matches together on the year.

In singles play, Speiser collected a 5-13 record, including a 4-9 mark in South Atlantic Conference play.
