The Eagles Head Home to Close Out the Fall Season with the Eagle Invitational

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - Carson-Newman closes the fall season with the Eagle Invitational at home. The Eagles compete against the Tusculum Pioneers and the University of Cumberlands Patriots.

The Eagles compete with Violetta Khisamova, Anita Chornei, Julia Speiser, and Mollie Edge. Edge will be making her debut for the Eagles.

The Eagles will begin Saturday with doubles action against Tusculum at 10:00 A.M. The Eagles will move on to Doubles action against the University of Cumberlands at 3:00 P.M. Carson-Newman will wait to compete in singles action until Sunday when they face the Patriots at 9:00 A.M. The Eagles will close out the invite will end the fall season with singles action against Tusculum at 2:30 P.M.

Carson-Newman matched up briefly against the Pioneers once already this fall season at the Lincoln Memorial University Invitational. Khisamova delivered the only winning match for the Eagles with 6-4 and 7-5 wins in the number two spot.

The Eagles last saw the Patriots in October of 2019; however, there are not any Eagles competing this Saturday that also faced off against the University of Cumberlands three years ago. The Eagles had a perfect outing when they played the Patriots in 2019.

Carson-Newman has had success against SAC opponents so far this season. The Eagles were able to sweep Lincoln Memorial at their own invitational to begin the season and took down Lenoir-Rhyne last week at the BAC Invitational. The Pioneers have been the only SAC that the Eagles have struggled with.
