Eagles look to repeat at Queens Invitational

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn.- Carson-Newman men's golf tees it up for the second time this fall as it heads to Kannapolis, N.C. for the Queens Invitational.

The Eagles return to The Club at Irish Creek after winning this event last year by one stroke. The course ranges nearly 7,100 yards and is a par 71. 36 holes will be played on day 1 (Monday) followed by 18 on the final day. (Tuesday)

Randy Wylie's squad began the fall season with a 4th place finish at the Cougar Invitational played at Green Island Country Club.

Competing for the Eagles will be Elliot MacGregor, Luke Stock, Hayden Hunneke, Jake Mynatt and Taylor Kilgore. Aaron Johns will compete as an individual.

Macgregor led C-N finishing in a tie for 6th going 4-over. The reigning SAC freshman of the year had a low round of 70 in the event. Last year at the Queens Invitational, he finished 3-over, with a low-round of 69.

In his first tournament with C-N, Stock finished tied for 6th. He shot a pair of 1-over 71s. Hunneke shot a team-low 3-under 67 in his first round with the Eagles.

Kilgore will compete in his first tournament with the Eagles.

Johns will tee it up for just the second time in his C-N career. He shot an 82 in his lone event with the Eagles.
