Hunneke lands GCAA Southeast All-Region honor

GCAA All-Region Teams

NORMAN, Okla. – Adding onto an impressive season with Carson-Newman, Hayden Hunneke earned All-Region honors, as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America earlier today.

Hunneke was one of six South Atlantic Conference men's golfers to be named to the Southeast All-Region team.

In his first and only season with C-N, Hunneke certainly made his mark with the program. The Chattanooga native was named First-Team All-SAC earlier this season. He had 21 of his 30 rounds this season be par or better, the most in program history. Hunneke's current 71.5 scoring average is the best mark in program history and tied for third lowest for a single season.

The graduate student's .884 winning percentage in 2022-23 is also the highest mark in program history. Hunneke recorded four, top five finishes and nine top 20 finishes this season.

Hunneke's honor marks the second straight season C-N has had a golfer represented on the all-region team. The Eagles now have six all-region honors in the last eight seasons.
