Hunneke snags CSC Academic All-District At-Large honors

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Continuing to add onto an impressive season with Carson-Newman, Hayden Hunneke (Chattanooga, Tennessee) earned CSC Academic All-District At-Large honors, as announced earlier today.

Award winners are recognized as some of the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the playing field and in the classroom.

The honor is the third this season for Hunneke, who previously recieved All-SAC First-Team and All-Region accolades.

In his first and only season with C-N, Hunneke made his mark with the program. The Chattanooga native was named First-Team All-SAC earlier this season. He had 21 of his 30 rounds this season be par or better, the most in program history. Hunneke's current 71.5 scoring average is the best mark in program history and tied for third lowest for a single season.

The graduate student's .884 winning percentage in 2022-23 is also the highest mark in program history. Hunneke recorded four, top five finishes and nine top 20 finishes this season.

Hunneke's honor is the first time the men's golf program received an Academic All-District honor since Anthony Marcinelli in 2019. That season Marcinelli earned All-America honors.

Hunneke is now eligible to compete for the Academic All-America status.
