NORMAN, Okla. – In the first Bushnell/Golfweek DII Coaches Poll of the spring season, Carson-Newman men's golf finds itself at number 20.
The Eagles finished the fall season also ranked number 20 in the rankings. C-N got itself back into the rankings thanks to a phenomenal finish to the fall season finishing in third place at the Citrus Intercollegiate. The top three finish at the event, which included finishing better than three ranked teams, marked the eighth consecutive fall season in which the Eagles finished in the top three at an event.
Four different C-N golfers averaged a 73.5 or lower in the fall season, with graduate student Hayden Hunneke leading the way with a 72.7 average.
The number one team in the poll is fellow South Atlantic Conference member Anderson. Two other SAC schools are in the first set of rankings this spring, with Lincoln Memorial checking in at No. 21 and Limestone sneaking in at No. 24. Coker also received one vote to be in the poll.
Rounding out the top five in this order is Barry, West Florida, Grand Valley State and Lee.
Randy Wylie's team begins the spring season in Dade City, FL at the St. Leo Invitational played at Lake Jovita Country Club on February 20th and 21st.
