Janse, Oka, and Crespo move on After Day One at the ITA Regionals

SUMTER, S.C.- Marc Janse advances to the round of 32 after a dominant win. Javier Crespo and Rinatro Oka upset the number seven seed to advance to the round of 16 in doubles action.

After a first-round bye, Janse saw his first action against Samuel Winter in the round of 64. Janse completed his first set with a perfect score of 6-0. He beat his opponent 6-2 in his second set.

Janse will look to carry his momentum forward into the round of 32 when he takes on the second-seeded Joaquin Benoit from The University of North Georgia.

Gjorji Jankulovski dropped his first set 6-3 against Hugo Nossler. He came back to win back-to-back sets with scores of 6-2 and 6-4. Jankulovski competed against Pietro Marinetti (8) in the round of 64. Marinetti won in sets of 6-3 and 6-2 to complete the victory.

Crespo dropped his sets against Zachary Cox 6-0 and 6-3. Oka faced a formidable opponent in Johan Holgersson. Holgersson won the first set 6-4. Oka could force the tie-breaking game in the second set but lost 7-5.

Marnix Van Dalen received a first-round bye due to his 32nd ranking. He was upset by Xaveam Van Wijk in sets of 6-4 and 6-1 in the round of 64.

Ids Waterbolk played Robin Eldin in their round of 128. Eldin took the victory in sets of 6-4 and 6-3.

Janjulovski and Waterbolk played admirably in their doubles action. The duo won their first match against Diego Ortega and Bram Poel with a score of 8-6. The duo moved on to play the 16 seed in Francesco Bonacia and Morco Jalalian from Tusculum University. Jankulovski and Waterbolk dropped their game against the Pioneers 8-5.

Oka and Crespo began their action against Torben Brinkman and Bernardo Peralta from the University of Coker. The pair won their set 8-6. The Eagles moved on to play against the number seven seed Daniel Osap and Christopher Cahour from The University of North Georgia. The Eagles' duo took the victory 8-6. The dominant duo moves on to play against the 16th seed Jagger Ong-Patzwalk and Nikita Tayanin from Flagler College. The match will kick off at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday.
