SALEM, Va.- Eagles find success at the Finn Pincus Invitational.

Carson-Newman track and field left the Finn Pincus Invitational with event wins and college best performances.

"In track, a sport of trial and error, it was good to learn lessons, both good and bad, for future performances. We had some outstanding performances that were good lessons on how to compete," head coach for the track and field team David Needs said.

Raymond Brugmans finished first in the men's one mile race with a time of 4:26.67. Colten Lee finished the one mile in 4:27.53 for a third-place finish. Kyle Nabe finished second in the 60-meter hurdles finals in 8.68 seconds. Siphosethu Boya placed fourth in the 60-meter dash finals with a time of 6.95.

"We love having athletes like Kyle, Siphosethu, and Kadidja racing in finals and running fast against good competition," Needs said.

On the women's side, Kadidja Sangare finished second in the women's 60-meter hurdles in 8.91 seconds. Brooke Taylor placed third in the women's long jump with a 5.26-meter leap. "Overall, we were pleased, but we know we have much more to improve upon. For some who might have struggled a little bit, it is good to learn those lessons as well so we can focus on our training better," Needs said.
