Charamba grabs gold in second day of the Georgia Tech Invitational

ATLANTA, Ga.- Carson-Newman track and field wrapped up the busy weekend with strong performances in the second day of the Georgia Tech Invitational.

Makanakaishe Charamba won gold in the men's 200-meter dash with a time of 20.65 seconds. The event marked his second top-three finish of the weekend after his second-place finish in the 100-meter dash. Teammate Dawson Jones finished 32nd in the event in 22.68. In the women's 200-meter dash, Janaya Davis-Gainer placed 26th in 25.33.

Carson-Newman men's track and field placed first in the men's 4x100-meter relay. Charamba and Jones raced with teammates Devon Moore and Siphosethu Boya. The quartet won the event with a time of 39.66. 

Aswhin Jood finished eighth in the men's 400-meter dash with a 47.87-second performance. On the women's side of the event, Tytiana Wilson placed 16th in 56.83.
