ROCK HILL, S.C.- Makanakaishe Charamba was named the SAC Varsity Gems Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week this morning, April 11.
Makanakaishe Charamba is a sophomore sprinter for Carson-Newman from Harare, Zimbabwe. He was honored as the SAC Varsity Gems Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week for his performance during the fourth week of the outdoor season.
Carson-Newman track and field attended both the Flames Invitational and Tennessee Invite for the fourth week of competition. Charamba competed in the men's 200-meter dash at the Tennessee Invite. He finished second in the event in 20.49, a new personal record. Charamba was only bested by Javonte Harding of the University of Tennessee who won gold with a time of 20.42.
Charamba and the Eagles will be back in action this weekend at the Electric City Invitational in Anderson, S.C.
