ANDERSON, S.C.- Carson-Newman track and field athlete Susan Nelson was named the 2023 South Atlantic Conference Women's Outdoor Track and Field Wealth Enhancement Group Elite 23 Award winner at the conclusion of SAC Championships on Thursday May 4.

Nelson is a junior jumper for the Eagles from Crossville, Tenn. She competed in the women's long jump at the SAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships and placed 20th with a 5.12-meter leap. 

Nelson was named the 2023 SAC Women's Track and Field Wealth Enhancement Group Elite 23 Winner at the conclusion of the championship meet. The award honors the student-athlete who has the top cumulative grade-point average in each of the league's 23 team championship events.

Carson-Newman track and field will be back in action this weekend at the Lee University Last Chance Meet. The meet will begin Saturday, May 13 at 9:00 a.m.
