ROCK HILL, S.C.- Devon Moore was named the SAC Varsity Gems Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week for his performance during the third week of the outdoor season.
Moore is a sprinter from Baxley, Ga. in his last season with the Eagles. He raced in the first round of the men's 100-meter dash at the Texas Relays last weekend where he finished first in 9.99 seconds. Moore's performance secured a national qualifying mark, and he currently holds the 4th fastest 100-meter dash time in the world under all wind conditions.
"Devon Moore ran against the best in the country, regardless of division. He told us he was going to run a fast one, and he did. One thing I can say about Devon is that he shows up for big races, and he did that this weekend," head track and field coach David Needs said.
